Governance - Board


'focus' operates under the governance of a seven member board of Directors, each of whom, has specific skills and interests that are relevant to the various aspects of our organisational activity. Provision is made to ensure that the board must include a minimum of two directors who are either parents or siblings of people who are receiving support through our services.

The members of the Board are:

Emil (Tony) Negri - OAM Chairman
Tony is the Managing Director of his own company operating in the 'earth moving' industry. He has previously served as Chairman of another disability service organisation. Tony was instrumental in the formation of both Kindilan Society and the other organisation and his achievements in services to people who have a disability was recognised by the award of an Order of Australia Medal.

Peter Fischer - Company Secretary
Peter is a solicitor and founding partner of his city based legal firm. Peter has previously served on a number of Boards in the health & welfare sectors.

Andrea Heffernan
Andrea is a senior manager in a community sector philanthropic organisation.

Sally Harrop
Sally is a teacher and educational administrator in the tertiary education sector.

Paul Williams
Paul is a professional engineer who currently works as the Managing Director of his own geotechnical consultancy business. Paul brings his general and project management skills to the Board.

David Wansbrough
David is a director in a stockbroking firm and has an extensive financial management background.

Peter Phillips
Peter is Managing Director of a boutique economic/regulatory consultancy firm, has many years experience in financial and strategic consulting.

Paul Hardy-Smith
Paul is a Veterinarian and Managing Director of his own company , he is also a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Gail Foster - CEO
Gail attends all meetings of the board in an ‘ex-officio’ capacity.


Board Charter


The Kindilan Society Board of Directors recognises that they are ultimately responsible for the operation and administration of the Kindilan Society T/As ‘focus’ Individualised Support Services and for the delegation of authorities to the Chief Executive Officer and to the Senior Management team. Their performance and actions are monitored regularly by the Board. The Board is cognisant of its obligations and accountability to the members as well as other regulatory and ethical expectations.
